After a successful career in the restaurant business, Mark decided to put down the spatula and picked up paint brushes again to pursue his passion. While he works in all medium he stays true to his expressionist style using color and shape to transform reality from a literal representation favoring acrylics on canvas or paper. Cynical by nature, Mark reconstructs any despair he feels and sees into a new vibrant vision of color and hope. Life itself doesn’t have to be black and white. Vibrant moments can be experienced if you allow yourself to venture into that world.
Perhaps considered primitive or simplistic, Mark’s use of color and lack of depth are both instinctive and purposeful. The message speaks for itself as you are unwittingly, but willingly, invited into the idyllic images.
